Dodge is celebrating 20 years since the Durango got its Hemi V-8 with two special editions that will be offered in limited numbers for the 2025 model year.
One is a Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet equipped with the Hellcat Supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, and the other is a Durango R/T 20th Anniversary equipped with the standard 5.7-liter V-8.
The Silver Bullet is a name well known to Mopar fans. The name was first applied to the 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX. The car was originally painted blue but later received a distinctive silver finish. The car initially served as a test car and a marketing stunt to boost Plymouth’s performance reputation on the street racing scene. It was powered by a stroked 487 cubic inch (8.0 liter) V-8 engine and could run the quarter mile in 10 seconds.
Surprisingly, the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet isn’t that slow: Thanks to its 710-horsepower output, quick-shifting eight-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive system, this three-row midsize SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, complete the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds and keep going on its way to a top speed of 180 mph.

Triple Nickel is the only color choice, and the interior gets a combination of red and black leather on the seats and silver accent stitching. The wheels are a set of 20-inchers in what Dodge calls a Lights Out finish, with red-painted calipers inside for the Brembo brake package. Dodge has also equipped the Durango with many of its available features as standard equipment.
The Durango R/T 20th Anniversary stands out with black hood graphics, 20-inch wheels with a Brass Monkey finish, Brembo brakes with black calipers, and “345” badging to denote the cubic inches of displacement of the 360-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8. Inside, there are front seats borrowed from the SRT, second-row captain’s chairs, and bronze-look accent stitching.

Both special editions are available to order through dealers, with pricing starting at $113,325 for the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet and $66,970 for the Durango R/T 20th Anniversary. Prices do not include delivery charges.
Dodge is getting ready to say goodbye to the Durango’s V-8 engine. Similar to what it did with its final V-8-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars, Dodge is rolling out a series of “Last Call” special editions to mark the end of the Durango’s V-8 engine, the first of which was unveiled in January as the 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi.
