The woman’s revenge plan caused a huge stir on the Internet, with many users stunned by her plan.
In revenge, a Chinese woman forced Louis Vuitton store staff to count 600,000 yuan (more than Rs 7 million) in cash for two hours, but ended up leaving without buying anything. The incident was retaliation for a bad experience she had received during a previous visit to the store, where she felt ignored and disrespected by sales staff. The incident took place at Starlight Place Shopping Centre in Chongqing. According to The Straits Times, the woman first visited the centre in June to buy clothes. She claims that staff ignored her, ignored her requests, showed her outdated products and showed irritation.
The shopper, who posted her experience on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, also claims that the staff ignored her when she asked for water. After she left the store, she tried to complain to the luxury brand’s “headquarters” but received no response.
According to the South China Morning Post, the woman had been nursing a grudge for two months before hatching a plan for revenge and returning to the store with a bag full of cash.
Accompanied by an assistant and a friend, the group tried on clothes, claimed they intended to buy them, and handed over cash to the salesperson, who spent two hours counting the notes before the woman revealed she had changed her mind and was not buying them.
She wrote in Xiaohongshu: “After they finished their calculations, I just took the money and walked away. How dare you mean I get to buy their products to improve their work performance?”
The woman’s revenge plan caused a huge stir online, with many users stunned by her scheme. Chinese social media users described the episode as “the most satisfying revenge of the year.”
“This ending is so funny. I always wondered why these store clerks were so arrogant,” wrote one user, while another commented, “They sell luxury goods but that doesn’t mean they are luxury goods themselves.”
