The classic motorcycle enthusiast headed from North Carolina to Kentucky in hopes of finding a collectible, but instead ended up picking up a classic car, a Chevrolet Corvette.
It wasn’t just any Vette, it was a very rare model.
As a motorcycle enthusiast, he was reluctant to pass up this opportunity, but he quickly relented.
It’s certainly an exciting story, but spoiler alert: it has a reasonably happy ending.

The man went to get his bike, but found a classic car instead.
Matt from the Wheels Through Time Museum in North Carolina received information about a garage full of classic bikes in Kentucky.
He’s a hobbyist and owns a museum so he jumped at the chance to get something for himself.
Moreover, he also made a video about it and posted it on his YouTube channel.
But to his surprise, the garage had nothing of value to his taste, only flashy and overly restored items.
Just when Matt thought he had wasted his trip, a bright red classic car caught his eye.
It was a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette, an original model.
C1 Corvettes are hard to find these days, and the middling-looking Corvette was an attractive purchase for him.
We’ve seen our fair share of early generation Corvettes being unearthed from barns.
Some sat in the grocery store for 27 years, so there’s that.
The ultra-rare 1954 Chevrolet Corvette was a big hit.
Matt noted that of all the models of this iconic classic car that GM put out in 1954, only 100 were painted red.
This was a 1 out of 100 specimen considering it still had stock paint.
But his latest vehicle had one major problem.
The engine looked great, but didn’t run very well.
In fact, it sounded like a tractor, even though the previous owner said it ran fine before a few years of idleness.
After spending endless hours under the hood, repairing the carburetor and rebuilding the distributor, Matt and his friend finally decided it needed a new set of spark plugs.
Interestingly, that was it. And his new Chevrolet Corvette ran (almost) perfectly.
In the end, he was satisfied with his purchase, even though he is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
