A traveler recently reported to Air India earlier this month after reportedly finding a cockroach in his in-flight meal.
Sujesha Savan, who flew from Delhi to New York on September 17, wrote about her unpleasant experience at X earlier this week.
“I found a cockroach in the omelette served on my @airindia flight from Delhi to New York,” the mother wrote in a post on Friday. “When I found this, my 2-year-old ate more than half of it.”
“As a result, I suffered from food poisoning,” she added. In his post, Savant shared a photo of what appears to be a dead cockroach lying inside an omelet.

Her mother, who works as a journalist in India, also shared a video she filmed on the plane discussing the filth she encountered on the plane.
A passenger said, “The pouch on this seat was also dirty and there was a bottle of waste liquid on it, so when I warned the staff, they told me it was a mistake.”

The social media post comes as Air India faces increased scrutiny over the dirty conditions of its aircraft. Last week, a passenger named Anip Patel chronicled his experience flying first class from Chicago to Delhi, calling it “the worst first class cabin I’ve ever been in.”
