Alan Wake and Control developer Remedy has announced FBC: Firebreak, a 3-player co-op multiplayer spin-off set in the same world.
A trailer released during tonight’s Xbox Partner Preview Showcase gave us our first look at gameplay. You play as a first responder within the familiar Federal Bureau of Control, revisiting areas seen in Control within The Oldest House.
FBC: Firebreak will be Remedy’s first foray into multiplayer, and will receive regular updates after launch. However, this is not intended to be a “game as a service,” Remedy communications director Thomas Puha told Xbox Wire.
“We’ve always developed single-player games at Remedy. Rest assured, we have more single-player games in the works. They’ll be great,” Puha said. “But we’ve wanted to make a PvE multiplayer game for a long time. There’s a lot of people here who love multiplayer in addition to single player. We’ve always wanted to make a PvE multiplayer game. I don’t want to take on a new challenge.”
Set after the events of Control, FBC: Firebreak explores the Federal Bureau of Control, its various agents, and its oddities, including murderous bar graphs and “objects of power” used as weapons. will appear further. garden gnome.
FBC: Firebreak launches for PC and consoles in 2025 and will be on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this project. Previously known by the codename Project Condor, Remedy previously stated that the game would be launched as a premium product rather than a free-to-play release. In April of this year, Remedy announced that the game had reached final production stages, although development on a full sequel to Control was not yet off the ground.
