Anne Hathaway is returning to ‘The Princess Diaries 3’.
Hours after Deadline exclusively reported that director Adele Lim had joined the threequel, the actress confirmed the news on Instagram.
The video she posted features cuts of Hathaway as a younger version of herself as Mia Thermopolis and Julie Andrews as Queen Clarice Renaldi, both saying “Shut up!” and counting to three.
Lim wrote the screenplay for Disney’s animated film Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) and will be starring in Lionsgate’s R-rated comedy Joy, starring Ashley Park, Cherie Cola, Stephanie Hsu and Sabrina Wu. He made his directorial debut with “Ride” (2023). Lim’s credits also include his roles as writer and producer on One Tree Hill and Lethal Weapon, as well as Star Crossed, where he co-show-executed. She also wrote the romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians, directed by Jon Chu, based on the book by Kevin Kwan.
