Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy especially cherished his official residence at Tadepalli. Apart from the extravagant architecture and existing security protocols, Jagan has procured iron fencing around the house to fortify additional measures.
The cost of the iron fence amounted to a whopping Rs 1,285 crore, which was paid for by the state exchequer. This information is currently under scrutiny and Nara Lokesh herself has tweeted about the matter.
Lokesh shared a government memo that was used to allocate Rs 12.85 billion from the state exchequer for installing fences at Jagan’s residence. Lokesh added that this is how Jagan splurged Rs 12.85 crore. Personal use of public funds.
Mr. Lokesh said Mr. Jagan had a 30-foot iron fence built around Tadepalli Palace, the cost of which was fully borne by the cash-strapped state exchequer. Mr Jagan cited urgent security reasons for the huge expenditure that was supposed to be spent on housing for the poor. The time has come for Jagan to take responsibility for the huge amount of public money he has lavished on his own pleasures.
In response, YSR Congress spokesperson sat before the media and criticized the criticism from TDP groups over Jagan’s security protocols.
“The CM today is Chandrababu. He has the power to question the Security Reasoning Committee about the security arrangements given to Jagan during his CM days. Why did he ask the SRC to put iron fence around Jagan’s house? Why not ask for an explanation? It was the committee that decided on the protocol, not Jagan.”
While the TDP camp claims that Jagan wasted a huge amount of public money on private security, the YCP camp claims that the security protocols were necessary for the CM’s safety at the time.
