Former Republican governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris for president.
In a lengthy post on X on Wednesday, Schwarzenegger said he doesn’t normally endorse people because he “doesn’t trust most politicians,” but that he understands his influence. .
“A candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it’s for him, a candidate who lets his supporters storm the Capitol while he watches while drinking Diet Coke, a candidate who is completely incapable of doing his job,” he said of former President Trump. “No candidate.” Passing policies other than tax cuts that help your donors and wealthy people like me but don’t help anyone else (sic) means Americans who don’t agree with you are like China, Russia, and North Korea. This is a candidate whom he considers to be a bigger enemy than he is. ”
I don’t really support it. I’m not shy about sharing my opinions, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians.
I also understand that people want to hear my opinion because I’m not just a celebrity, I’m a former Republican governor.
What was taught to me during my time as governor…

Mr. Schwarzenegger said he is frustrated by the inaction of both parties, especially on issues such as immigration reform and the national debt.
“It’s a fair game for them,” he said.
He also highlighted his accomplishments as governor of California from 2003 to 2011, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving the state’s infrastructure and lowering the unemployment rate.

“That’s the policy,” he said. “To win the next election, you need to work with your opponent instead of insulting them. I know that’s unappealing to most people, but policies can make a difference in people’s lives. I’m very happy to be able to contribute to making things better.”
He concluded: “This is reason enough for me to share my vote with you. I want to move forward as a country, and while there are many disagreements with their platform, the only way to do that is with Harris and I think it’s about working with (vice presidential candidate) Waltz.”
