New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is poised to make MLB history once again.
With 299 career home runs entering Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox, Judge is one of 160 players on the 300-home run club. The Yankees slugger will have played in 953 major league games before Tuesday’s game and could become the fastest player in MLB history to reach 300 home runs.
With Judge approaching this milestone, it gets us thinking: Which player is currently on track to reach 300 career home runs the fastest?

Ralph Kiner

Judge, who will play in his 954th major league game on Tuesday night, will likely surpass Kiner’s all-time record.
Barring an injury or the decision by all MLB managers to not pitch Judge this season (which is not impossible given how well he’s doing (just kidding), Judge will almost certainly hit his 300th home run before reaching Kiner’s all-time record of 1,087 games played.
That would make Judge the fastest player to reach 300 career home runs in the fewest games played, but that’s not the only record Judge would set by joining the 300-home run club.
Hall of Famer Babe Ruth needed the fewest at-bats to hit 300 home runs, taking just 3,830 to reach the milestone. Judge, who had 3,424 at-bats as of Tuesday, is on track to reach the milestone if he hits his 300th home run.
If Judge hits his 300th home run before 1,087 games played, and the Yankees slugger hits it before his 3,830th at-bat, Judge will be the fastest player to join the 300-home run club, both in terms of games and at-bats required.
Your turn, number 99.
