Booking offers these days are not as aggressive as they used to be. Anyone remember the silly Deus Ex: Mankind Divided tiers? – but everything from exclusive cosmetics to early access entries still drives excited players to buy the game before release is used for. So the Monster Hunter Wilds team had to remind people once again that yes, the next beta is really, really free.
Capcom had already announced that the upcoming Monster Hunter Wild beta wouldn’t have a paywall behind pre-orders, but it looks like not enough people got the memo, and this year’s Concord and Call of the Dead betas won’t have a paywall behind pre-orders. I don’t blame them, because even something like Duty: Black Ops 6 had a beta that was exclusive to pre-orderers.
“Hunters, we’ve seen some comments wondering if you need to pre-order Monster Hunter Wild to access the open beta test,” the game’s social media account tweeted. “The answer is no. You don’t need a pre-order to play. But if you want to pre-order after playing the open beta test, that’s great!” Probably the most polite pre-order I’ve ever seen. This is an order request.
Its open beta will be available to everyone from October 31st to November 3rd on PS5, Xbox Series Users can enjoy testing a little earlier on PS5. The beta will go live tomorrow, October 28th at 8pm PT and October 29th at 3am GMT.
If you want to pre-order Big Beast Basher anyway, Capcom has thrown some goodies into the mix. None of the extra perks are wild enough to rank among the most mysterious pre-order perks of all time, but the exclusive armor ornaments and in-game talismans are nice enough.
Ten years later, Monster Hunter Wild expands on one of the series’ coolest and rarest monster types.
