Bebe Rexha believes she is the victim of a hate crime in which she was discriminated against because of her ethnicity.
The pop star shared a series of emotional videos on her Instagram Stories on Saturday documenting the incident at Munich International Airport.
“The captain of Lufthansa is threatening me,” she told the camera in tears, makeup smudged under her eyes.

“@Lufthansa I was threatened because the security thought I was Albanian. I asked in Albanian where I could buy a ticket and then I was banned from boarding the plane,” she wrote on her story, directly tagging the German airline.
“I am Albanian and I believe this is a hate crime,” Rexha said in a statement. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rexha’s family is of Albanian descent.
“He wouldn’t let me call him by his name. He continued to mentally abuse me to make me feel more powerful than I actually was.”
