Bjarki is scheduled to release a new album called “A Guide To Hellthier Lifestyle” on December 13th.
The 13-track album was his first LP on the Difference label, which he co-founded with Thomas Harrington Rawle.
The album is inspired by the “psychological landscape of contemporary social issues,” such as wellness and their intersection with capitalism, and aims to “encourage listeners to pause and reflect on the absurdities of modern life.” This is a concept album that utilizes experimental sound textures and techniques. Works from artists such as Coyle, Genesis P-Orridge, and Paul Lansky.

“This new album is my take on all the social weirdness and health obsession going on right now. It’s a song I started in California, the story of a soul born into the wrong womb. It started,” says Bjarki. “Around that time, I noticed more and more of this ‘health religion’ everywhere. People trying to sell you ‘good vibes’ and people who probably have less life experience than houseplants.” All these apps track our every move, and it’s like they’ve repackaged control and called it “self-care.” Capitalism in yoga pants. That’s when I started putting together A Guide to a Hellier Lifestyle. A never-ending rabbit hole of self-improvement. We are all instilled with the idea that we are not good enough and that we need to come out on our own to be better.
“At some point, I took a break from the album and started working on another album full of satirical speeches and AI-generated voices, where I created my own voice and input some speech ideas. “Get rid of anger in life with health gurus” coaches. I played around with these AI voice generators quite a bit to create these deep, fake-serious monologues. Strange indeed, but it confused me. I remember my early days when I was 13 years old, creating tracks with Fruity Loops and playing around with text-to-speech generators. After a break, I returned to finish The Guide on a deeper level. ”

He added: “It’s a reflection, it’s a rebellion, it’s a little bit upsetting. But for the most part, it’s just me doing what I’m supposed to do.”
No lead single from the album will be released, but two separate tracks have been released ahead of time, the first of which, “10’000 Steps But Still Biting My Nails,” is out now, with a soothing fuzzy synth opening. It is developing. Take the tone into more outlandish territory.
