Blake Lively is no stranger to calling the shots with her style, and when she hits the red carpet in a trophy vintage piece, you know it’s one she’s personally tracked down. Case in point: this glittering, multi-colored Versace gown from Fall 2002, which was worn by none other than Britney Spears shortly after it hit the runway. Sourced by online dealer Tab Vintage, Lively snapped it up before US Vogue’s Margaux Ambouba and wore it to the premiere of It Ends With Us in New York last week.
These aren’t the only archival items Livly has been spotted wearing recently. During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark in late July, she wore a Vivienne Westwood floral halter dress from 2004 that she acquired from Tab Vintage. There was also a printed Dior by John Galliano skirt suit from Fall 1997 that she wore in New York City earlier this month. Most recently, she opted for a vintage Atelier Versace dress from Spring 2018, featuring a cut-out embellished bodice and floral-print skirt, for the Denmark leg of her promotional tour.
There were signs that Lively has gone vintage when she wore a blue 1960s mermaid-inspired dress purchased from Happy Isles to a Tiffany & Co. event in New York in May, while in September she was spotted wearing a vintage Chanel tweed jacket while out to dinner with Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner.
The actress’ latest string of archival finds proves that, and we can’t wait to see what vintage gems she unearths (and gets ahead of us!) over the rest of her press tour.
