It’s time to get out your resumes, guys!
Fall Career Day is back at Penn State, meaning it’s the season for elevator pitches and business casual, but finding quality clothing that won’t break the bank can be tough.
Luckily, Penn State Career Services has solved this problem by partnering with UPUA to create the “Professional Attire Closet” (PAC). Located in the Bank of America Career Services building at the corner of Bigler and Eisenhower Roads, the closet offers a wide selection of suits and business casual clothing that students can borrow for free.
The professional clothing is ready to wear and freshly cleaned, courtesy of Monarch Dry Cleaners, and with a variety of sizes, styles and outfit types, students will be able to find the perfect outfit to wear this Career Day.
There is a limit of one outfit per student per grade, and students must bring their student ID to enter the closet.
Michael Pennington, senior associate director of career services, said having resources like the PAC is important for students on campus, and not being able to get business attire shouldn’t hinder a student’s success.
“PAC is an important resource that helps Penn State students develop the confidence and attire they need to succeed in job interviews, career fairs, networking events and other career-related activities,” Pennington said. “All students are welcome.”

The clothing in the closet has been donated by local alumni, faculty, staff, community members and students. If you are interested in donating, the PAC accepts a variety of items including suit jackets, blazers, dress skirts, pants, dresses and ties.

If you’re looking to dress to impress at Career Day this fall, stop by The Closet any time Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., no appointment necessary.
More information about the PAC and how to donate can be found here.
