If you’ve used the Cash App digital payment app to send money to family, friends or businesses in the past six years, you may be eligible to file a claim as part of a proposed $15 million settlement in a lawsuit that alleges Cash App and its parent company Block failed to take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs allege that Block and Cash App were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee accessed account data without authorization in 2022, and when an unauthorized user accessed certain Cash App accounts using reused phone numbers linked to the accounts in 2023.
If you’ve used Cash App in the last six years and your personal information or accounts have been accessed without your consent or unauthorized transfers of funds have occurred, you may be able to claim up to $2,500.
