If you’ve used the Cash App mobile payment service to send money in the past six years, you could be eligible for a $2,500 payment. The proposed $15 million class action settlement alleges that Cash App and its parent company, Block, failed to take adequate steps to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit allege that Block and Cash App were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee accessed account data without authorization in 2022, and when an unauthorized user accessed certain Cash App accounts using reused phone numbers that were linked to the accounts in 2023.
If you’ve used Cash App in the last six years and your personal information or accounts have been accessed without your consent or unauthorized transfers of funds have occurred, you may be able to seek payment of up to $2,500.
