Castle Gate Lifestyle Centre is a modern retail hub in Pretoria, South Africa. It encompasses a wide range of retail, food, beverage and service options, designed to act as a central hub for the community.
Construction work on the retail project began in 2019.
The first phase of the shopping center opened to the public in November 2020, with the second phase opening in May 2024.
The project was developed by a joint venture (JV) between Atterbury Property Fund (APF) and the Carl Erasmus Trust.
APF is a collaboration between property developer and investor Atterbury, his management team, founders and Talis Investment Partners.
The shopping centre is the first building in the mixed-use Castle Gate precinct, which is being developed by a joint venture in Pretoria and combines residential, commercial and entertainment spaces within one integrated community.
The massive mixed-use development project represents a huge investment of 6 billion rand ($394.6 million) and is expected to create 20,000 full-time jobs.
