“I’m blown away,” rising actress Diana Silvers told the man sitting next to her as she took in the sights on Thursday night ahead of Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2025 show. After hours in a car, or, if they were lucky, a helicopter ride, or famous people or both, guests were dropped off at an elaborately orchestrated equestrian scene in Bridgehampton, New York, where the evening began with an al fresco cocktail hour next to the horses’ pasture.
Adding to that impression was the presence of the evening’s big VIPs, none other than First Lady Jill Biden and her granddaughter Finnegan Biden.
Other celebrity guests included Jude Law, Usher, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo, Tom Hiddleston, Cole Spokes, Joey King, Laura Dern and daughter Jaya Harper, Demi Singleton, H.E.R., Justin Theroux and Rufus Wainwright.
Biden was approached by a string of celebrities, and Hiddleston quizzed them on topics related to their personalities.
“Do you ride horses?” he asked her. “No,” she answered.
This was Jude Law’s first time walking in a Ralph Lauren show, although he has personally worn the brand’s clothes for many years.
“We started this relationship today and so far it’s going great. We’re in the honeymoon period right now,” Law joked about his relationship with the brand.
“I haven’t been to any shows in years. I don’t know why,” he added. “Usually it’s because I’m working or I’m in some remote, exotic country.”
Luckily, he’s been in New York since March filming Black Rabbit for Netflix, and while the project wraps at the end of this month, he’ll be in town through December.
The extended filming allowed him and his family to take several trips to the Hamptons over the summer.
“My family came down here for a few weeks and I was able to come down here for the weekend, visiting Fire Island and Bellport for a bit. I’m realizing now what a beautiful mix of city and country that New Yorkers enjoy in the summer. It makes so much sense,” he said. “It’s a good life. It’s always beautiful to leave, the air is clean, there’s a sense of tranquility, and then it couldn’t get any better. Driving back, you see that skyline, then you’re back to the hustle and bustle.”
Domingo opted for a grey suit, turtleneck and matching trench coat.
“There are 50, maybe 51, different shades of grey, because you have to add your own spice to it,” he says. “I loved it right away. It feels classic American, and I feel like it could be worn in the 1940s, the 1980s or in 2024.”
Domingo was one of the actors who broke out on the red carpet last year during awards season, and with several projects in the pipeline, he’s set to be back on the red carpet this fall.
“I’m going to go more classic. Last season I wanted to play with architectural cuts and colors. Maybe my heart is telling me to go more classic, more easygoing,” he said. “When people start noticing your style and emulating it beautifully, it’s time to change it.”
Nearby, Usher was wading through the crowd dressed from head to toe in butter yellow linen.
“I thought this was my last chance to wear it because it’s a vibrant color and the seasons are changing. We’re heading towards fall,” he said.
To him that means “thicker clothes.”
“I spend most of my time onstage,” he said of his fall fashion plans, “which means I may even wear fur onstage. Faux fur.”
How does Ralph Lauren make him feel?
“chic.”
