“NYFW continues to be the home for showcasing the best of American fashion, and this season boasts a strong lineup of established and emerging brands experimenting with forward-thinking ways to present their collections. To further enhance an already robust week, the CFDA is taking additional steps in response to requests for improved logistics and strategy that benefit both brands and attendees. We’re proud of our September schedule, which represents the many people who make the week happen – designers, brand leaders, communications and media teams, show producers, casting directors and more,” said Joseph Maglieri, director of Fashion Week Initiatives, CFDA.
Since acquiring the fashion calendar in October 2014, the CFDA has been the sole organizer of the official NYFW schedule.
As reported in May, IMG, producers of NYFW: The Show, have made some big changes to how NYFW operates. The company said it will pivot from producing a centralized venue for NYFW: The Show to focusing on facilitating brand partnerships and creative collaborations between brands and designers. The company aims to provide customized support for designers’ needs throughout the year.
