Paris Fashion Week is over, but the fashion and beauty inspiration it provided will go down in fashion week history (and in my mind, free of charge) . From Mugler’s reverse cutout bangs to Issey Miyake’s powder-white inner corners to Rabanne’s glossy peach eyelids, the French fashion house didn’t disappoint with its runway hair and makeup. We’ve created a ton of styles that everyone will fall in love with. For the rest of this year.
One brand in particular has come out with an alluring brand that is sure to captivate beautiful girls just in time for the holiday season. At Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2025 show, several models stunned as they strutted down the catwalk in sequined black eyeliner. This wasn’t glitter, it was actual sequins carefully placed along thick stripes of jet black liquid liner.
To achieve this look, Chanel makeup artists used Stylo U Waterproof Liner on the upper lash line, followed by Le Liner de Chanel in 512 Noir Profond across the roots of the upper lashes I drew a thin straight line.
Then, as an accent, we placed an adhesive strip of sequins created by Chanel over the liner for a super chic shimmer. The final touch was to paint the model’s upper lashes with Le Volume de Chanel in 10 Noir.
To make your sequined eyeliner the center of attraction, keep the rest of your look minimal and sparkling. For the Chanel show, the makeup artist used Les Beiges Water Flesh Complexion Touch and Le Collection de Chanel to create an even base, then applied Jouès Contrast Intense in Rose Ardent to the center of the cheeks to create a pink Achieved a flash of color. Finally, Baume Essential in Transparent added a Moo Den-esque glass skin finish, while Rouge Coco Flash in 54 Boy acted as a barely-there pink lip.
Not only is this incredibly wearable (I’ll be recreating it soon), but it’s a great way to enhance your makeup look as the holiday season approaches. Ditch the iridescent shadows and glittery lips and let sequin-encrusted liner take center stage on your face.
