Li Auto had 11,100 insurance registrations last week, Zeekr had 3,400, Leapmotor had 5,400 and Aito had 3,900.
In China, major electric vehicle (EV) makers saw weak insurance registrations last week as vehicle deliveries are typically slow at the start of the month.
According to data released today by Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI), insured registrations of NIO (NYSE: NIO) vehicles in China totaled 3,300 units during the week of Aug. 5-11, down 43.1% from 5,800 units the previous week.
Li Auto stopped publishing its weekly insurance registration numbers earlier this year after about a year of doing so, but resumed publishing them in early May.
Nio delivered 20,498 vehicles in July, its third consecutive month above 20,000 units, up 0.18% from 20,462 units a year ago but down 3.35% from 21,209 units in June.
Lee Auto registered 11,100 insurance policies last week, down 5.93% from 11,800 the previous week.
Lee Auto delivered a record 51,000 units in July, the second time it has exceeded 50,000 units, following 50,353 units in December last year.
This represents a 49.41 percent increase from 34,134 units in the same month last year and a 6.75 percent increase from 47,774 units in June.
Xpeng’s (NYSE: XPEV) insurance registrations last week did not make it into any of the top 10 lists released by Li Auto, but another source monitored by CnEVPost showed that Xpeng’s figure was 1,700 units, down 22.73 percent from 2,200 units the previous week.
Xpeng delivered 11,145 vehicles in July, up 1.24% year-on-year and 4.47% from June.
This marks the fifth consecutive month of month-on-month growth for Xpeng’s monthly shipments, but it is still only about half the monthly shipments of over 20,000 units in the fourth quarter of last year.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) registered 15,500 insurance registrations in China last week, up 24% from 12,500 the previous week, according to figures released by Li Auto.
Tesla China sold 74,117 vehicles in July, of which 27,890 were exported from its Shanghai factory and 46,227 were sold domestically, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) had 75,800 insurance registrations last week, down 5.49% from 80,200 the previous week.
The company sold a record 342,383 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in July, up 30.60% from 262,161 units sold in the same month last year and up 0.21% from 341,658 units sold in June.
Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) saw 3,500 insurance registrations last week, down 7.89% from 3,800 the previous week.
Xiaomi EV’s Beijing factory, which began a two-shift production system in June, carried out line maintenance in July and completed it at the end of the month.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) saw 3,400 insurance enrollments last week, down 17.07% from 4,100 the previous week.
G-Car delivered 15,655 vehicles in July, up 30.04% from 12,039 units delivered in the same month last year, but down 22.14% from 20,106 units delivered in June.
Leap Motor (HKG: 9863) registered 5,400 insurance registrations last week, down 6.9% from 5,800 the previous week.
Leap Motor delivered 22,093 vehicles in July, up 54.12% from the previous year and up 9.83% from June.
The number of insurance registrations for Aito, a brand jointly launched by Huawei and Ceres Group, last week was 3,900 units, down 57.61% from 9,200 units the previous week.
According to figures released by Aito earlier this month, deliveries in July totaled 41,535 units, up 881.68% from the same month last year and down 2.91% from June.
