The powerful duo of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan has become a nightmare for the YSR Congress in the historic Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2024. Pawan Kalyan played a key role in forging the TDP-Janasena Party alliance, which proved to be the death knell for Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu rewarded Pawan Kalyan for the sacrifices he made to remove Jagan from the Chief Minister’s post by giving him the coveted Deputy Chief Minister post and also handed over important posts like Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply, Environment, Science and Technology to him.
Chief Minister Naidu today inspected the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments as part of the periodic review of key departments, for the first time since the Cabinet was formed. Pawan Kalyan attended the meeting along with senior officials of both the departments.
During the important meeting, Pawan informed Naidu that budgetary allocation for Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations at the Gram Panchayat level has been increased to the range of Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore.As for the Rural Development Department, he said a special mobile application is currently being developed to strengthen sanitation management in rural areas.
Naidu said the provision barring candidates with two or more children from local body elections has been scrapped. He confirmed that the amendment bill has received Cabinet approval. Discussions also included plans to increase the remuneration for representatives of local bodies, with the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department putting forward a proposal for the government to consider.
