Copenhagen’s star just keeps shining brighter. We’ve already told you about the amazing street style scene at this season’s Copenhagen Fashion Week, but now it’s time to turn our attention to the runways. Local designers like Baum und Pferdgarten, Gestuz and Rotate pulled out all the stops this season, providing us with plenty of great outfit inspiration for Spring 2025 (yes, we’re talking about next year already!). Specifically, we’ve looked at three key trends from 2024 that CPHFW designers are officially recommending for 2025:
What current trends did I miss on the runway? Brat green, a big colour trend that has been making waves lately, was conspicuously absent, as was the racing jacket that was all the rage in the Danish capital earlier this year. Plus, last year I reported on the runway trend of shoulder-wrapped sweaters seen at big names like Bottega Veneta, Proenza Schouler and Brandon Maxwell. But if Copenhagen is anything to go by, next year will see the rise of waist-wrapped sweaters. A subtle difference, to be sure, but fashion has always been about the details!
You may not know this, but Copenhagen Fashion Week doesn’t just feature Danish designers. The event attracts top talent from all over Scandinavia, including Sweden’s Filippa K and Finland’s Marimekko. Having visited the event multiple times over the past six years, I can confidently say that Copenhagen is the fifth largest fashion capital in the world (after Paris, New York, London, and Milan, of course). For a full analysis of the 25 Spring/Summer runway trends, read on.
