Country singer Phil Vassar shared an update on the singer’s health after he said she was “dead” twice.
“I feel great. I feel so much better, I feel like a different person,” Vassar, 62, told Fox News Digital on Monday.
Vasser had previously spoken about his health issues, revealing that he suffered a heart attack and stroke last year. The multi-platinum singer-songwriter issued a warning to fans after being hospitalized with serious symptoms.

“I never thought something like this would happen to me because I was living a healthy lifestyle, but after my experience, the doctor said it can happen to anyone at any time,” he noted.
The “Last Day of My Life” singer said he’s grateful to be alive after his near-death experience and to be able to tell his story.
“I’m in a good mood today and happy to be here,” Vassar told Fox News Digital.

Vassar previously said his life flashed before his eyes during the medical emergency.
“I was never a big drinker or a big party animal. I worked out every day but I was feeling unwell so I made sure to look after my health and avoided eating any fried foods. I never did. It was genetics.”

“I died suddenly. I was dead for about 30 minutes on two occasions. My heart wasn’t beating. It wasn’t beating at all,” Vassar told Taste of Country.
“I don’t remember anything, but I remember not feeling well. I had a genetic heart condition,” he said.

“I was never a big drinker or a big partyer. I worked out every day. I was in bad shape so I was really focused on my health and making sure I didn’t eat any fried foods. I never did. It was genetic,” Vassar said.
Vassar said he had a medical emergency at home and someone was there to call 911. Vassar added that paramedics shocked him “11 times” and that he “had several broken ribs.”

“They did a really good job bringing me back,” Vassar said.
Three days later, the country star suffered a stroke while in the hospital.
“They put ice on me and I was like, ‘Why is it so cold? Because I’m on the ice,” he recalled. “And then, weirdly enough, I suddenly died.”
After “drying up” after playing 100 shows last year, Vassar said he was happy to be back on the road.
