“The aurora scale goes from 0 to 9,” Anderson told FOX Weather. “I wanted to propose when she was at a 9, because she deserves nothing but the best. When I woke up in the morning and saw that it was an 8, I knew that was the night. Ta.”

Anderson captured the once-in-a-lifetime moment and Sutherland’s reaction on video. The proposal was completed with a custom ring featuring three gemstones symbolizing the aurora borealis.
