Cucumbers are being recalled in 31 states and the District of Columbia after hundreds of people reported illnesses linked to Salmonella.
In an update, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the outbreaks of Salmonella africana and Salmonella blenderup, which were initially reported as two separate outbreaks.
The agency confirmed that 449 people had eaten cucumbers contaminated with Salmonella, 125 of whom were hospitalized.
According to the CDC, no deaths from Salmonella have been linked to infected cucumbers.

Symptoms of Salmonella
Most people infected with Salmonella experience symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Symptoms usually begin 6 hours to 6 days after swallowing the bacteria. Some people, especially children under 5, adults over 65 and people with weakened immune systems, may experience more severe illness that may require medical treatment or hospitalization.
