Deadpool and Wolverine fans are divided over a possible CGI error in the film.
The box office smash hit starred Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and Emma Corrin has explained why she felt “super sick” after seeing the film in the cinema.
While the film has received mixed reviews from critics, it has received an enthusiastic response from moviegoers since its release last month.
However, one scene has come under fire from many for a perceived effects error: in the scene where Deadpool slices through Wolverine’s arm with a sword, the screen glitches as the sword passes through Wolverine’s arm, making it look as if the sword wasn’t even there, leading to speculation that Marvel’s CGI team missed the moment.
“I winced in the theater when I saw how bad this looked,” one viewer wrote after the video went viral on TikTok. Another called the scene “the worst CGI scene in cinema,” complaining that the characters “moved like video game characters.” Another called the error “horrible.”
However, because the glitch occurred during a scene that pointedly shows Deadpool landing badly, some have suggested that this was the point, and that the terrible CGI was a meta attempt to distract from the point.
“Does anyone else think this is all part of a joke?” one person asked, adding: “He keeps saying his mistakes are what people will remember him for, and yet here everyone is talking about CGI.”
Another posted: “I think Wade is talking about how badly he made the crowd feel about his fall. It’s definitely part of the scene.”

Others are just annoyed that some people stress the small details and accuse them of “being too particular.”
“Y’all are never happy about anything,” wrote one outraged fan, while another added: “Why do you have to analyse everything so minutely? Isn’t this getting a bit obsessive?”

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to be a huge success and become the highest-grossing movie of the year, with the title currently reserved for Inside Out 2, making 2024 a lucrative year for Disney after a disappointing 2023 at the box office.
