Ever since Pawan Kalyan was appointed as the Minister of Andhra Pradesh, there have been constant rumours that he will be made Deputy Chief Minister.
Jana Sena’s social media and party workers have repeatedly emphasised this title and never refer to him simply as a minister.
After his appointment, there were daily photos, videos, meetings and reviews.
He held meetings for three-four consecutive days and made a busy trip to Pithapuram reminiscent of pre-election rallies and ceremonies.

But now there is silence… silence… only silence.
Recently, Pawan’s close aide Trivikram visited Vijayawada after which the actor was spotted at the airport with his wife looking ultra-modern in an outfit.
There has been no news about Pawan’s whereabouts or activities since then, and it is unclear who is running the three key ministries that he oversees.
The state is experiencing rainy weather and the farming season is in full swing, and it is his responsibility to ensure that the environment in the village is up to standard.
Maintaining sanitation and inspecting the condition of the village roads are also his responsibilities. Regular inspection meetings and supervision of staff are important duties.
Chandrababu Naidu has appointed key functionaries, known to be praising the TDP, to assist Pawan and discharge these responsibilities on his behalf.
The arrangement appears to be aimed at reducing Pawan’s workload as the official will manage departments while he will hold the title of Deputy Chief Minister.
But as Deputy Chief Minister, shouldn’t Pawan have expressed the party’s stand on the Vinukonda murder? No party official has commented on the matter.
Did they think that this was a dispute between YSRCP and TDP and not their problem?
As the Deputy Chief Minister, second only to the Chief Minister, he has huge responsibility in running the state. He should voice his opinion. So where is he?
Politically speaking, this silence may not work in Pawan’s favour and he will need to plan his strategy carefully.
