Fall is in full swing and hairstylists are already looking forward to seeing what winter hair trends will be popular next. It’s no surprise that the short hair trend continues to dominate this season (we’re looking at you, bob haircuts). But as we head into winter 2024, expert hairstylist and hair trend forecaster Tom Smith predicts “sweet scents” will take over salons this season. And it’s really chic.
What is Dolce Vita Crop Haircut?
“Inspired by Italian businessmen of the ’60s, La Dolce Vita Crop is a soft and androgynous style with a sense of power,” Smith explains. “With the face strictly shorn or gently tousled, this look is powerful yet unpretentious,” he says. Perfect for a practical, business-like look for those who want to be taken seriously. Or pair it with soft, statement earrings for a more high-fashion look. ”
How to style the Dolce Vita crop haircut
This type of haircut is a statement, so it’s not a haircut for wallflowers. “For a secure and confident wearer, this exudes power and authority,” says Smith. “If you want to show off your cheekbones, tuck the length well behind your ears. If you have a high forehead, the bangs can lighten your face-framing to maintain a soft look. “If you want to, let all your hair flow back to add volume to the top,” he says.
When it comes to products, Smith has some tips and tricks to help you look your best, as well as some essential hair styling products. ‘Use a heat-protecting volumizing spray such as Olaplex Volumising Blow-dry Mist (£28) or evo Root Canal (£25) to blow-dry clean, damp hair, brushing it back from your face without parting it. ” he said, adding: You can also add bends and flicks to the ends using straightneers if desired.
“Once dry, position your hair and spray with a styling powder like evo haze (£25) for maximum root control without overpowering the look of product. Position your hair as you like. , then finish with a mist of strong hold hairspray,” says Smith.
