psychotherapist of Southern California has left rapper and business mogul Dr. Dre fearing for his life while wearing a bulletproof vest after being subjected to “intolerable harassment” by a “systematic and malicious” barrage. He is suing for at least $10 million in damages.
In a new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Dr. Charles Sophie alleges that Dre (real name Andre Young) will mediate the breakup of his decades-long marriage to his now ex-wife Nicole Young. He claims that he hired Dre in 2018 for the purpose. Sophie said she worked “diligently, independently and impartially” to help the couple resolve their dispute, and stopped contact with Dre when a settlement was reached at the end of 2021.
About 14 months later, the doctor said, Dre suddenly started sending emails claiming that the doctor had acted inappropriately in some way, which the doctor denies. “Rather than treat the mediation process as an opportunity to heal, Young decided to take his frustrations about the mediation out on Dr. Sophie, which included an ongoing campaign of late-night text messages and threats spanning almost a year. “Intimidation and violence, including homophobic rhetoric,” the complaint states.
Dre’s attorney Howard King said in a statement that Dre filed a “confidential complaint” against Sophie in California last year seeking to “punish Dr. Sophie for her dereliction of duty and incredible incompetence.” He told Rolling Stone that he had submitted it to the Osteopathic Medical Board.
“This complaint seeks to revoke Dr. Sophie’s license to provide mental health counseling to indigent patients. In flagrant violation of all applicable standards of care, Dr. Sophie has committed not only the Youngs, but also their children. At the same time, she was involved in a controversial divorce while undergoing “therapy.” He apparently encouraged one of his children to take sides against Mr. Young and even encouraged his son to go to the press with false allegations in order to force a financial settlement that he recommended. “and was fired,” Dr. King alleges. That statement. “Dr. Sophie has consistently rebuffed the Medical Board’s attempts to investigate these claims, but has filed this desperate lawsuit as the Medical Board’s noose tightens.”

I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’d like to talk to you anytime.” thank you. Sophie tried to let the blackmailer run, but Young wouldn’t let go.” According to the complaint, on March 5, 2023, Dre asked, “What’s up, Doc?” He reportedly sent another text saying: I thought you wanted to talk. Will the cat go with your tongue? You must give me a written apology. If not, move on. I’m not playing around, believe me. ”
Sophie alleges that in June 2023, Dre unlawfully attempted to coerce her into disclosing confidential information obtained during a therapy session with a third party. Sophie said he refused and “again tried to remain calm and hope that Mr. Young’s threats, harassment and threats would stop.” According to the complaint, on August 4, 2023, Dre sent another “disturbing and chilling text message,” in which he threatened, “Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you.” It is said that he did.
