Ella Emhoff wore a blue plaid suit, button-down shirt and tie as she listened to her father, No. 2 Congressman Doug Emhoff, speak on the second night of the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday.
Emhoff, 25, the stepdaughter of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, is a Bushwick, Brooklyn-based fashion designer and occasional model who has become a talking point at the convention for her high-fashion choices.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the suit Emhoff wore on Tuesday was designed by Thom Browne and even came with the designer’s signature armbands. A similar suit is currently selling at Nordstrom for $2,400. The fashion trade publication also spotted Emhoff wearing pants by Helmut Lang the day before.
She also proved she had Gen Z chops by taking photos with a disposable film camera of her brother Cole and father performing on the main stage.

On Monday, Emhoff was spotted wearing the highly popular Harris Waltz camo hat, which Teen Vogue reported sold out in 30 minutes and brought in an estimated $2 million for the campaign.
The camo hat appears to have been inspired by a similar hat sold by Gen Z pop star Chapelle Roan, whose wildly successful Midwest Princess tour supposedly broke Lollapalooza records earlier this month.

While Emhoff is a California native, Harris’ campaign has emphasized running mate Tim Walz’s Midwestern roots and rural upbringing, seeing the camouflage gear as part of his appeal.
Emhoff wasn’t the only one taking fashion notes from Waltz at the convention this week. Former President Barack Obama also commented on his vice presidential nominee’s outdoorsy fashion choices during a prime-time speech. “You can tell those flannel shirts he’s wearing aren’t worn by a political consultant,” Obama told a Chicago audience. “They’re from his closet, and they’ve been through a lot.”
