MILAN — The cast of “Emily in Paris” traveled to Rome to film an episode that premiered last week as part of the series’ fourth season, but one of the stars was enjoying some Italian fashion off the set.
Ashley Park co-designed a Weekend Max Mara capsule collection that will debut at Milan Fashion Week on Wednesday and be celebrated with a cocktail party at Giacomo Arengario on Saturday.
“I’ve had the opportunity to get to know the team at the brand at major events over the past few years, so this collaboration was a fairly natural fit,” Park said, praising the label’s collection as “feminine, sophisticated and suitable for any occasion – exactly what I was looking to work on.”
Park said timeless quality, authenticity and craftsmanship also played a key role in shaping the collaboration, “which have been our guiding principles at every stage of our creative process.”
Titled “A Weekend with Ashley Park,” the collection was conceived with the aim of offering an approachable, versatile wardrobe targeted towards summer travel through feminine designs with a retro vibe – hourglass shapes, full silhouettes and subtle detailing.

“I wanted to capture the glamorous spirit of Emily in Paris and translate it into a weekend collection that combined sophistication and well-being, comfort and chic poise,” Park said. “It was important to combine form-fitting lines with ’50s-inspired silhouettes. It’s a collection that is striking and luxurious, yet never sacrificing laid-back comfort with a touch of Italian Dolce Vita.”
Made primarily from cotton, linen and denim, the range includes dresses with off-the-shoulder necklines, halter tops, full skirts, cropped blouses and skinny trousers, in solid colours or adorned with floral motifs and artsy check patterns.
Park cited the brushstroke floral trench coat as her favorite piece because it embodies the spirit of the collection by combining “high-quality craftsmanship with the timeless silhouette of a trench.”
“The puff-sleeve cotton-linen dress is also my favourite silhouette and I can’t wait to wear it,” she added of a dress in the same motif.
To round out the collection, the actress paired strappy sandals and pearl-embellished mesh flat slingbacks, reprising the label’s flagship Pasticino bag, which combines cotton canvas with a woven basket base.

Park, who has also starred in films such as Beef and the series Only Murders in the Building, is the latest talent in Weekend Max Mara’s long line of collaborators. The brand released a collection co-designed with actress Lucy Hale earlier this year, but has previously worked with designer Arthur Arbesser, British stylist Kate Phelan, Lily Aldridge, architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, New York-based stylist and editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, top model Alek Wek, American illustrator and pop artist Donald Robertson, former British Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers, Oscar-winning costume designer Gabriella Pescucci, American interior designer Anthony Baratta and American artist Richard Saja.
Launched in 1983 as a casual, outdoor weekend collection, the brand is part of the Max Mara Fashion Group portfolio and is sold in around 250 monobrand and department stores worldwide.
