Balmain Beauty has arrived.
The collection of eight fragrances, called “Les Éternels de Balmain,” is available from today on a dedicated e-commerce site and in select Balmain boutiques, with prices starting at $300 for 50ml. Sample-size discovery sets are available from $55.
Balmain Beauty was launched in 2022 as a joint venture between Estée Lauder and the French fashion house, and this collection marks its first launch.
While Balmain has offered fragrances on and off since the 1940s, creative director Olivier Rousteing has chosen to revive four classic scents from the Balmain archives with a contemporary twist: Vent Vert, Ivoire, Ebène and Carbone. The four new scents are Selle d’Ambre, Rouge, Bronze and Bleu Infinie.
Fragrance has been a consistent bright spot in ELC’s gloomy earnings, highlighted by the success of wholly owned Tom Ford Beauty as well as niche brands such as Le Labo, Frederic Malle and Jo Malone London.
Balmain CEO Matteo Sgarbossa said in a press release that the deal with Estée Lauder was a “clear manifestation” of the brand’s strategy to ensure its future and growth as a luxury brand.
“This partnership marks a new chapter for the Maison and underlines for all our commitment to maximizing potential across categories. (We are) determined to realise the full potential of the Maison to become a true leader in luxury.”
