Following a warm welcome from Disney boss Bob Iger, D23 attendees were treated to an extended viewing of Moana. In the new trailer, Moana attempts to reteam with Maui, but a new storm threatens to threaten her, her family, and the life she’s built. In addition to a dance number from the cast, stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho took to the stage to talk about what their characters will bring to the table in Moana, which hits theaters on November 27, 2024.
“Moana is a leader on land and sea,” Cravalho says, “and what’s even more interesting is that she’s her sister, who is her whole world. When she’s not with her sister, she’s looking for evidence that there are more people beyond where she’s sailed.”
