Colin Jost will be one of the stars of Tommy Hilfiger’s NYFW show on Sunday.
Everyone aboard!
A Staten Island Ferry boat that “Saturday Night Live” stars Colin Jost and Pete Davidson reportedly bought while “pretty high” may finally find a purpose.
Page Six spies spotted the couple’s increasingly unnecessary vessel being pulled by a tugboat near South Street Seaport, preparing for something.
And, according to Women’s Wear Daily, it will be part of Fashion Week.
The ferry MV John F. Kennedy will host the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show, which has long been the highlight of the week.
“New York City is the birthplace of the American Dream, and the Staten Island Ferry has been a gateway to self-expression for so many people throughout history,” Hilfiger told Fashion Insider.
“By hosting this year’s show on the recently decommissioned ferry, MV John F. Kennedy, we are celebrating an quintessential New York City landmark while firmly anchoring (the fashion brand’s) maritime-inspired codes in the ship’s iconic heritage,” he added.
Jost is expected to attend the show.
Jost, Davidson, architect and developer Ron Castellano and comedy club owner Paul Italia reportedly plan to buy the ferry at auction in 2022 for $280,000 and renovate it into a $34 million entertainment venue.
Davidson happily revealed that once he buys the ferry, he wants to turn it into a comedy club and restaurant.
Castellano told Travel + Leisure magazine that the ship could be a kind of boutique cruise ship, sailing between New York and Miami.
But in 2023, Davidson confessed to Entertainment Tonight that he and Jost were “pretty high” when they bought it. (Jost later said he wasn’t high, but he’s not sure if that makes the decision easier or harder to defend.)
“I have no idea what’s going on with that,” he said, adding, “It’s under investigation.”
“Hopefully it’ll be a transformer and go away from there and I won’t have to pay for it,” he said.
Perhaps the Hilfiger show on Sunday will contribute to the spending.
