On Wednesday, multiple users shared images on social media platform
However, the photo that went viral dates back to September 11, when it was sealed for violating standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to the spread of dengue fever.
A video involving CJP Isa also started circulating on social media on Wednesday.
The video shows Judge Isa standing in what appears to be a store with two women. One of the women was seen discussing an order with a man who appeared to be an unseen clerk. According to the audio from the video, the staff member identified the presiding judge and appeared to make rude comments toward him.
The video, which went viral on social media platforms, displayed a watermark that read ‘EHTASHAMABBASI’.
Ehtesham Ali Abbasi, who describes himself as a crime reporter for Bol TV in his X bio, shared the video on Wednesday and it has been viewed more than 757,000 times. The alleged video was re-shared 7,400 times, including by users whose previous posts and profiles suggested they supported PTI.
The store in question, Crusteez, is a donut chain with multiple branches in Islamabad.
As the video went viral, an accompanying image showed an employee posting a notice at the store’s entrance stating that the store was sealed.
However, the posts that shared the videos and images did not provide any information about the store where the incident allegedly occurred or the store that was said to be on lockdown.
The image shows users who appear to be PTI supporters, Adeel Habib, founder of digital media platform Siasat.pk, PTI leader Shahbaz Gil, and Saeed Jalaluddin, who claims to be a broadcast journalist associated with Bol News and ABP. -Shared by Jalal. news.
The posts implied or claimed that the donut shop was closed following an incident between an employee and a Supreme Court judge. In total these posts earned him over 361,000 views.
Meanwhile, a viral video started being shared by PML-N supporters on Thursday (today). There were claims that it was the original video, as seen here, here, here, and here. However, audio from the video appears to show the alleged employee praising the chief justice.
Due to its high virality and public interest, a fact check was conducted to verify this claim.
A reverse image search conducted to examine viral images found an X post from Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon on September 11.
The caption of the post reads, “Action taken at F6 for violation of anti-dengue SOPs. 1 electrical outlet blocked and 1 person arrested. Islamabad DC takes strict action against larval breeding I was instructed to continue.”
Separately, even though PML-N supporters claim to have shared the original video of the incident, the version they posted still has the “EHTASHAMABBASI” watermark, which is similar to the previous 75 It was shorter at 70 seconds compared to the second video.
Moreover, in a video shared by PTI supporters, a woman standing next to CJP Isa is heard and seen repeating the disrespectful remarks allegedly hurled at him.
Meanwhile, in a video shared by PML-N supporters, the woman’s question to the employee is abruptly cut off at the 62-second mark, although the full text of the question can be heard in an earlier version. This suggests that the video has been manipulated, and there is clear evidence of dubbing and syncing issues.
Asked for comment, Dawn News digital manager and video editor Affan Ahmed Khan also investigated the video and said: Audio begins. At this point, you may also notice that the background noise of the fan decreases slightly.
“What this person did was cut out the fan noise individually, create a loop, and put that layer under the narration layer while cutting out the original audio in the editing software.”
Additionally, it said, “While there is no echo in the voice of the person dubbing the video, the size of the room indicates that there must have been a slight echo in the audio while speaking.” .
“His dubbing shows him speaking directly into the microphone, resulting in a sharper, deeper voice. Also, although the camera shakes a lot, the audio level and audio remain the same. It’s clearly a dubbed audio.
Further investigation into the incident also uncovered posts from journalists claiming the video was old. Nation correspondent Ali Hamza said in an X post the day before that the video was from August 2024, after the Supreme Court’s decision in the Mubarak Sani case.
A keyword search turned up a Facebook post by former News One correspondent Waheed Murad dated August 20, 2024, which said: His wife refused to sell him donuts. ”
The post said the incident occurred a week ago and was related to the ongoing Mubarak Sani case. At that time, the Supreme Court justices were heavily criticized by some members of society.
Two attempts to contact Mr. Krusties for clarification on the entire matter went unanswered.
However, the donut chain issued a statement on its social media platforms. The full text of the statement is reproduced below.
“At Crusteez Donuts, we are committed to treating all of our customers with respect and fairness. We are aware of a video circulating of an employee refusing service to a customer. This action is a personal decision and does not reflect our company values.
We are investigating the situation to fully understand the situation. While respecting individual beliefs, we must not deny services based on personal opinions. We are increasing training at all locations to ensure our teams adhere to our standards of inclusion and professionalism.
We apologize to the customers involved and those affected. We appreciate your understanding as we address this issue. ”
Therefore, Fact Check has determined that the claim of a viral image of a donut shop being locked down after a donut shop employee allegedly cheated with Pakistan’s Chief Justice is false.
This image was originally shared by Islamabad DC when the store was locked down due to dengue SOP violation. Additionally, videos related to the alleged incident shared by PML-N supporters have also been doctored and manipulated.
