Fall will be upon us in the blink of an eye, and now is the perfect time to start updating your wardrobe.
From runway inspiration seen everywhere from Tory Burch and Miu Miu, to invigorating styles seen at shows like Prada and Miu Miu, there are plenty of exciting new trends to look forward to.
To help steer us in the right direction, Good Morning America tapped celebrity stylist Michaela Erlanger to share some easy-to-wear looks you can buy right now.

Erlanger will feature Hollywood stars including Lupita Nyong’o, Meryl Streep and Kelly Clarkson.
She recently partnered with TJ Maxx to launch the retailer’s new STYLED by Runway at TJ Maxx incubator program, which will provide five up-and-coming stylists with hands-on mentorship, access to premium designer fashions from Runway to build their portfolios, funding to build a luxury fashion styling closet, and exclusive opportunities to expand their skills and further their fashion careers.
“When trying out new trends, I encourage everyone to think about their own style — buy one or two on-trend pieces and incorporate them into your existing wardrobe to find a way to let your personal aesthetic shine while still keeping up with the latest fashion,” Erlanger told GMA.
She continues, “Fashion cycles are fast, so you don’t have to take part in every trend that comes along, just the ones that resonate with you.”

Denim on denim
“Denim has long been a fall fashion staple, and a double denim outfit lends a luxurious touch to a chic monochromatic look,” says Erlanger. “Adding denim accessories like handbags, hair accessories, and jewelry can complete the look for a creative look.”

Luxurious layering
Layering is a great styling technique if you’re looking for practical ways to stay warm. This season, Erlanger recommended mixing patterns and fabrics like flannel, tweed, herringbone, lace and linen for a more dynamic look.
“Embracing rich hues that capture the essence of fall, like olive, brown, red and orange, will add excitement and depth to your fall wardrobe,” Erlanger said.

Executive Chic
“Nothing makes a statement like a power suit,” says Erlanger. “A suit can be styled in a variety of ways, from sleek and formal with tailored separates to relaxed and casual with an oversized blazer, loose pants and a basic t-shirt or tank top.”

“When it comes to accessories this season, more is more,” says Erlanger, who recommends opting for exaggerated earrings, playful necklaces, head scarves, wide belts, and opera gloves to give classic fashion pieces a modern twist.
