The first Tesla Semi has been spotted on European roads, and while it was still in transit at the time it was captured on video, the vehicle’s sighting in the region suggests that Tesla is indeed preparing to launch its Class 8 all-electric truck in the region.
The Tesla Semi has been on U.S. roads since it was first revealed in late 2017, but this is the first time it’s been spotted on European roads. Tesla community member Esther Levers, who shared a video of the vehicle, said the brief footage of the Semi was captured in Kamen, Germany. The Class 8 all-electric truck is reportedly on its way to Hannover.

As mentioned in our previous report, the IAA Transportation 2024 trade show is scheduled to take place in Hannover, Germany from September 17 to 22, 2024. The event organizers said in a press release that exhibitor registrations have increased this year. Tesla is one of the exhibitors at this year’s event.
The Tesla Semi will likely be one of the main attractions at the upcoming IAA Transportation 2024 trade show, but it won’t be the only all-electric truck on display at the event. In addition to the Tesla Semi, electric trucks from other major manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz Truck and MAN Truck & Bus SE, will also be on display, according to event organizers.

The Tesla Semi is expected to make an appearance at the IAA Transportation 2024 trade show, but Tesla also recently posted a job posting on its careers website for a business development head for Semi-Trucks EMEA (Amsterdam or Berlin), suggesting the company plans to launch its Class 8 all-electric trucks in the region.
“Tesla is seeking a Business Development Manager in Europe to build and maintain customer relationships and plan Tesla’s future Semi-truck deployment. This person will meet regularly with potential European Semi-truck customers to understand their use cases, needs and duty cycles,” Tesla said in the job listing.
