MUMBAI: Models in their quest to achieve the body type they believe will meet modern fashion standards often end up skinny and underweight, following diets that can cut out essential minerals and nutrients, making them dangerously weak.
However, some fashionistas are now prioritizing fitness. Actress Seerat Kapoor, for example, emphasizes that your body will not function properly unless you are physically and mentally healthy. “When you’re shooting for 12 hours, it’s hard to get in a proper workout, so I try to at least do yoga in the morning. It helps me concentrate on my work,” she says.
The actress added, “I know that if I am not physically healthy, I cannot work properly. That is my motivation and goal. To work efficiently, I need to be healthy both mentally and physically.”
However, Seerat focuses more on a healthy body than a toned one. “It’s been tough maintaining a healthy body and lifestyle with my busy schedule. I don’t believe in having a toned body just for show. My main focus is to have a fit and healthy body that can do whatever I want to do,” she said.
Her diet doesn’t really include anything apart from ‘ghar ka khana’. “I don’t think there’s anything else that can help me stay healthy. My mother cooks my breakfast, lunch and even evening snacks early in the morning,” the actress said.
Seerat’s fitness idol is her co-star. “Seeing everyone around me taking care of themselves is something I learn a lot from,” she says. Talking about fitness tips, Seerat adds, “I recently started yoga and realised there is no better way to keep the whole body fit. Meditation also helps a lot.”
Seerat is currently playing the role of Mannat in the show “Rabb Se Hai Dua”, which also stars Yesha Rughani as Ibaadat, Dheeraj Dhoopar as Subhaan and Raymon Kakkar. Produced by Prateek Sharma’s Studio LSD, “Rabb Se Hai Dua” airs on Zee TV.
