Waititu argued that since Ruto took office, the situation in the country has worsened, with reports of extrajudicial killings of Kenyans, and the cost of living has soared. Mr Waititu reminded the audience that President Ruto had promised Kenyans to end the threat.

Mr Waititu also reviewed the warning given by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to Kenyans regarding the 2022 general elections and said Kenyans have since learned that they were wrong not to listen to him. added.
He added that Mount Kenya region is not happy with President Ruto despite voting for him in the last election, and apologized to those who did not elect him.
“We ask for forgiveness because you had the foresight to see what would happen. What Uhuru warned us about and we refused to listen. We apologize for the inconvenience,” he added.
The former governor said leaders who have since defected from the UDA have agreed to support Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as their preferred candidate in 2027.
“We remember how Mr Kalonzo Musyoka did a good job against former President Mwai Kibaki when he was Vice President. We all remember that he will become the President of this country. I decided to support it.”
