The Los Angeles Police Department has released security camera photos of a suspect wanted for shooting and killing “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor on a Los Angeles street, as well as the suspect’s getaway vehicle.
Wachter, 37, was returning to his car after a late-night shift as a bartender in downtown Los Angeles when he encountered three men who were trying to lift his car with a floor jack and steal the catalytic converter.
When Wachter confronted officers, one of the men pulled a handgun and shot Wachter in the chest “without provocation,” police told KTLA.
Police say the suspects then fled the scene in a stolen 2018 black four-door Infiniti Q50 with a brown interior.
Images released by the Los Angeles Police Department show two suspects wearing light-colored hooded sweatshirts and one man wearing a black hoodie. No physical description of the suspects has been released, other than Suspect 1’s tattoos above his left eye and on his right cheek.
According to police, the shooting happened around 3:25 a.m. in the 1200 block of Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
Wachter appeared in 164 episodes of the long-running soap opera from 2020 to 2022. He also had roles in HBO’s shows “Westworld,” “NCIS” and “Criminal Minds.”
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in finding the men involved in this man’s murder and urges anyone with information to call the department’s Central Bureau Homicide Unit or make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
