Grimes’ mother, Sandy Garossino, appeared on X on Saturday morning to plead with Elon Musk to let her 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, meet his great-grandmother, who is in “end-of-life palliative care.”
She claimed he refused to honor his custody agreement with Grimes (real name Claire Elise Boucher) and instead took 4-year-old X to the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
The X thread was the latest attack in the dispute between Musk and Grimes, with her and her mother using Musk-owned platform X to contact Grimes.
The thread begins with, “Dear Elon @elonmusk It was great meeting you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card I helped X make. He was so proud. I’m writing here because it’s the only way I can reach you.”
“As you know, my 93-year-old mother is currently in end-of-life palliative care,” Garossino continues. “She is anxious to see and hold Claire’s children one last time, especially her youngest children, whom she has yet to meet. She was so excited because the children were scheduled to come over this weekend to celebrate my mother’s birthday – which is today – but those hopes have been dashed when the trip was canceled.”
Musk is currently attending the Paris Olympics, but it’s unclear if X is there with him. While he wasn’t seen with Musk on Friday night, he did post a video of the ceremony on his X account, which Grimes reposted on her X account.
The Daily Beast has reached out to Grimes and Musk for comment.
“They are worried because they have withheld Claire’s children and necessary passport documents from her and they know that her children cannot come,” Garossino added.
Garossino also warned that Musk had not told them “where his other children were or who they were with,” adding, “The children are going to be with their mother. They were expected to be here in Canada.”
Musk and Grimes had three children together during their three-year relationship from 2018 to 2021. Musk has 12 children with three different women.
“I am writing this letter with my grandmother’s wishes in mind – that the agreement be upheld, my children be returned and they be given the necessary paperwork to see their great-grandmother before she passes away,” she continued. “Some moments in life last forever and there are no second chances. Family is irreplaceable.”
“Elon, please. This is very difficult for my mother and I am worried about my children. Time is of the essence right now,” Garossino concluded.
Grimes and Musk’s custody battle began in September 2023 when Musk sued his ex-partner to “establish parentage,” providing a glimpse into Musk and Grimes’ relationship. Grimes, who had struggled to contact Musk in the past, tried to contact him using X in 2023 as the dispute escalated. Grimes responded to a post on Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson’s X account, writing, “Tell Elon to let me see my son and get his lawyer to respond.”
Grimes also voiced support for Musk’s transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, 20, after Musk revealed earlier this week to psychologist Jordan Peterson that his son had “died” and that he had “essentially been tricked into signing papers authorizing Vivian’s gender transition.” She then sought legal permission to give up the use of the Musk surname.
“I love Vivienne and will always be proud of you,” Grimes wrote in a Thursday post on X. Wilson criticized Musk in the thread, saying, “I look pretty good for a dead woman.”
