Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini retained key departments such as home affairs and finance, with portfolios being allotted to the Council of Ministers on Sunday, three days after the swearing-in of the new government in the state, Anil Vij said. secured energy and transportation.
Mr. Saini will handle 12 portfolios. Vij, who was in charge of housing policy when Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was prime minister, is now responsible for energy and transport as well as the labor sector.
According to a government order issued here late at night, the health department, which was handled by Vij during the Khattar government, has now been assigned to Arti Singh Rao, who will also be in charge of the medical education and research department and the Ayush department. He plans to do so.
Saini, 54, took oath as Haryana chief minister at a grand ceremony in Panchkula on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by a large number of NDA leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and thousands of people from across the state.
In addition to him, 13 other MLAs, including two women, took oath.
Mr. Rao Narbir Singh has been allotted the industry, commerce, environment, forest and wildlife department, while Mr. Mahipal Dhanda has been allotted the school education department.
Vipul Goel will be assigned the revenue and disaster management, urban local bodies and civil aviation departments, while Arvind Sharma will be in charge of the prisons and cooperation portfolio.
Shyam Singh Rana will be in charge of agriculture and farmers welfare department and Ranbir Gangwa will be in charge of public health engineering. Krishan Kumar Bedi will be in charge of the social justice, empowerment and SC and BCs welfare department, while the women and child development portfolio will be handled by Shruti Chowdhury.
Among other ministers, Krishan Lal Panwar has been assigned development, panchayat, mines and geology departments.
Rajesh Nagar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) will be assigned the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs while Gaurav Gautam, Minister of State (Independent Charge) will be in charge of the youth empowerment and entrepreneurship and sports sector.
The Haryana Governor, on the advice of the Chief Minister, has allotted the portfolios to the members of the Council of Ministers, the order said.
The BJP won 48 out of 90 seats in the October 5 Haryana assembly polls.
