PARIS — Luxury French skiwear brand Fusalpe has appointed Pascal Comté-Jodrat as chief executive officer as it aims to accelerate growth and expand internationally.
His appointment follows the retirement of Alexandre Fauvet in November after 10 years at the helm.
The company said on Monday that Conte-Jodra will work closely with Husalp’s artistic director Mathilde Lacoste and her management team to strengthen Husalp’s identity and strengthen the brand’s presence in strategic markets.
“His impressive track record and strategic vision are strong assets to support our new phase of growth and success. We are confident that Pascal will lead our team to deliver the ambitious and lasting growth that Fusalp deserves,” Sophie and Philippe Lacoste, co-presidents of Fusalp, said in a statement.
Founded in 1952, the French company, based in the Alps, is best known for its early technological advancements, such as the form-fitting ski pants, stirrup style and one-piece suits worn by the French national ski team in the 1960s.
After falling into difficulties in the mid-1980s, Fusalp was bought in 2014 by siblings Sophie and Philippe Lacoste, grandchildren of tennis legend and Lacoste founder René Lacoste, and former Lacoste executive Fauve. Fusalp is now sold in 25 countries.
“I am honored to join Husalp, an iconic brand with a very strong brand heritage, unique DNA and an unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence and style. With passion and determination, I will use my experience to support the brand’s growth ambitions and strengthen its influence on the international stage,” said Conte-Jodra.
He joins the company after a year as CEO of Y/Project, a role that ended in July following the death of the label’s co-founder, Jill Ellerof.
Prior to that, the French executive held senior roles at brands including Mugler, Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera.
A graduate of Toulouse Business School and Paris Dauphine University, Comte Jodrat began his career as a senior financial analyst at Hermès based in New York City.
