An unidentified young Ghanaian woman who claims to be involved in an illegal mining operation popularly known as galamsey has issued a stern warning to Ghanaians to stop sending messages under videos asking her for advice. did.
According to her, all advice should be directed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as she believes he needs it most.
In a video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X (formerly Twitter), the woman claimed that she is not the only one involved in Galamsey’s activities and that President Akufo-Addo is involved as well.
She further requested that any Ghanaian come to her comment section to verify the claims and said she was ready to provide directions to the alleged presidential galamsey site.
She added that she was not the one who started galamsey in the country, stressing that she was not responsible for dealing with the menace.
“Hey, when I post about galamsey and machines, all the people who comment under my videos saying, ‘You’re ruining our lands, you’re ruining our waters,’…shut up. Shut up the gutters! If you have any advice, please don’t leave it in my comment section. I’m not the one to change Ghana. I didn’t start Galamsey.
“…If you have any advice, please tell Nana Addo. Ask him if he is not involved in galamsey himself… He has a site. If you want to know about his site, Please come to my comment section and I will give you directions to his (Akufo-Addo) site. So shut the gutter! Can you afford to give me 500GH¢ every day? ?Can you pay me GH¢3,000 a month?” she asked.
Meanwhile, the government has stepped up efforts to tackle the galamsey threat, deploying military forces to combat illegal mining and eradicate illegal mining activities from water bodies and forest reserves.
The military task force is working with the Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners to arrest and confront illegal miners at various sites.
This action follows demands from organized labor and some Ghanaian citizens who have called for a ban on illegal small-scale mining.
