I may not have allowed myself to actually shop for fall fashion until Labor Day, but the past few weeks (nay, months) have been filled with obsessive wishlist-making, so when Anthropologie announced hundreds of new styles for the season, I was quick to check them out and add all my favorites to my list.
I was on the hunt for transitional staples, dark wash denim, and cozy knits, and Anthropologie met all of my expectations and more. I was able to narrow down my 900+ new arrivals to 10 must-have pieces, and now that summer is unofficially over (and so is my fall shopping ban), I’m finally ready to snatch them up.
10 Anthropologie Fall Must-Have Items
French crewneck colorblock striped sweater, $98 Maeve knit wide-leg pull-on trousers, $118 by Anthropologie buckled blouse, $118 Pilcro The Keira collar button-front blouse, $118 Pilcro high-rise bootcut jeans, $148 Maeve puff-sleeve cashmere cardigan sweater, $148 by Anthropologie patch-pocket marled cardigan sweater, $158 Exquise Toby button-front pleated shirt dress, $178 Seventy+Moti Maddie denim skirt, $200 Siddhartha Bansal V-neck midi dress, $218
Maeve knit wide-leg pull-on pants
Anthropologie
Wide-leg knit pants are one of my most worn styles because they look effortlessly dressed up but feel like sweatpants. I particularly love these pants from Maeve, which have two thick seams down each leg, giving the illusion of pleats. It’s a small detail that really elevates the look of pull-on pants.
Exquisite Toby button-front pleated shirt dress
Anthropologie
Mini dresses are some of my favorite pieces to wear as the seasons change, and the Tobie shirtdress from Exquise might just be one of my favorites. Living in LA, I have to be careful not to go all out with fall fashion, but this style is spot on. The short hemline and ballet flats are perfect for today (it’s 94 degrees right now), but when the temperatures drop, all you need is knee-length boots and a cardigan. But honestly, any mini dress will do. What makes this dress special is that the tapered pleated waist not only looks elegant, but is also “the most flattering” according to shoppers.
Maeve puff sleeve cashmere cardigan sweater
Anthropologie
This cardigan is a transitional piece you’ll want to add to your wardrobe right away, thanks to its short sleeves and soft, lightweight cashmere. That said, finishing details like the puff sleeves and scalloped edges also make it a worthwhile purchase. Anytime I want to throw on some jeans and a T-shirt, I’ll choose this cardigan instead. It’s just as comfortable, but way cuter.
Pilcro High Rise Bootcut Jeans
Anthropologie
My denim wishlist for this season included a dark wash and a pair of leg-lengthening bootcut jeans. But rather than buying two different styles, I decided to get this pair from Pilkro, which offers the best of both worlds. These high-waisted jeans feature the brown contrast stitching that I love in dark denim, both on the intricate detailing on the back pockets and on the faux cuffs at the hem. They’re super chic for blue jeans.
