In addition to starring, Robinson also co-created The Chair Company with Zach Kanin. The two also serve as executive producers. Adam McKay and Todd Shulman will executive produce through their Hyperobject Industries, and Andrew DeYoung will also direct the pilot. Hyperobject currently has a first-look TV deal with HBO.
Kanin and Robinson have been frequent collaborators since their days working together on the writing staff of “Saturday Night Live.” They later co-created the popular Comedy Central series “The Detroiters,” starring Robinson and Richardson, along with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly, and the Netflix sketch comedy series “I Think You Should Leave,” starring Robinson. The latter show won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Series in 2023, and Robinson is a two-time Emmy winner for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Series.
