As part of the ongoing effort to revive Donna Karan New York Collection, a troupe of iconic supermodels appeared in the latest fall campaign.
Donna Karan New York unveiled its fall campaign on Thursday, continuing a revival that began last spring: “Reflecting Women,” which reflects the multifaceted nature of the modern woman.
The campaign was photographed by Mikael Jansson and styled by Jessica Diehl, with creative direction by Trey Laird, who previously worked on campaigns for Karan’s former company, as well as G-III’s DKNY and Karl Lagerfeld brands.
Donna Karan New York relaunched the brand this spring with the “In Women We Trust” campaign, breathing new life into Karan’s heritage and story. The campaign featured women from multiple generations as brand storytellers, which resonated with a wide audience and “gave the brand instant relevance,” according to the company. Last spring’s supermodel lineup included Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow, Carolyn Murphy, Imaan Hammam, Karlie Kloss and Liya Kebede.
Following the success of the spring ads, the fall campaign introduces another iconic group of eight women who each share a history with the brand and embody Karan’s past, present and future: Valetta, Hammam, Christy Turlington, Alek Wek, Karen Elson, Eva Herzigova, Edie Campbell and Liu Wen.

Against a modern backdrop of reflective gold and mirrors, Jansson captures the group in different combinations, each reflecting a different element of the woman.Jansson has worked with the brand for over 25 years.
“It’s a great group of women, and I love the consistency of Donna Karan that’s in all of us,” Turlington said.
The campaign will run across all Donna Karan social channels, spotlighting this new group of women and sharing their individual stories. The campaign will be amplified across North America through a diverse media mix of high-visibility digital, print and premium outdoor advertising in a 360-degree approach.
Featuring burnt-out fabrics, textured jacquards, supple leathers and suedes, the Fall 2024 collection will be available at select retailers in North America and at donnakaran.com starting Thursday. Other elements of the collection feature a primarily black and gray palette accented with vibrant accents and liquid satin that mimics wet pavement, including a series of olive green and gold looks and dresses with flattering angles and cutouts.
On this occasion, pieces are reminiscent of signature designs from the archives while catering to modern lifestyle dressing. Highlights include outerwear in chic belted silhouettes, feminine drapes, refined separates in textured tweeds and jacquards, luxe cashmere knits that transform day into night, and flowy evening looks in liquid sequins and velvets. The collection also includes tailored chalk-striped coats and relaxed trousers, as well as form-fitting dresses. Shades of silver, steel, beech and loden are available, along with urban reds, black and white. Graphic prints are also available.
