Dr. Nina Cash, 57, is a mature model featured in Sports Illustrated magazine. She is on a mission to show that women don’t get any more beautiful with age, and she never stops flaunting herself in a bikini.
You don’t have to be young to be beautiful, and one woman is ample proof of that.
California native Dr. Nina Cash (57) was a model in her younger years, but only really came into her own in her 50s. The beauty was chosen as one of seven honorees to be featured in the 60th anniversary issue of Sports Illustrated, to be published in May 2024, and can often be seen promoting body positivity on the catwalk.
She got some modeling work after high school but eventually left the industry to focus on raising her daughter as a single mother, which led her to pursue a career in higher education, specifically in continuing and adult education.
Nina earned her undergraduate degree in Human Services, then graduate degrees in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding, and ultimately, driven by her passion for facilitating learning and growth for individuals and communities, she earned her PhD in Educational Leadership.
However, after retiring in 2022, Nina felt “drawn” to try modelling again. Later that year, she took a chance and applied for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Search, and it paid off.
She is now making a name for herself as a model and doesn’t care about her age or what others say about her. At 50, she is fit and stunningly attractive.
Nina said: “It’s so important that women of all ages are represented in magazines and beauty campaigns. Diverse representation not only reflects the reality of women’s experiences, but also promotes inclusivity and empowerment.”
“By showcasing women of different ages, backgrounds and body types, we challenge narrow beauty standards and celebrate the beauty and value of each and every individual. It is essential for women to see themselves represented in the media and advertising as it promotes self-acceptance, confidence and a sense of belonging.”
“Furthermore, it sends a powerful message that beauty is diverse and timeless, transcending age and other societal notions.”
Perhaps the reason Nina stays in such incredible shape is because she works so hard to stay in shape – something that’s very important to her as a mother with type 2 diabetes, so she does her best to make her health and well-being a priority through a combination of exercise, balanced nutrition, and self-care.
She likes to stay active, whether it’s walking, Peloton, or dancing, which is good for her physical and mental health. It’s also important to Nina to prioritize having breakfast every morning and getting enough rest.
As Nina gets older, she has become more comfortable with all the changes that come with age, including gray hair. “Accepting gray hair was easy. I grow older with gratitude and positivity,” she says.
“I view each year as an opportunity for growth, wisdom, and new experiences. Aging is a natural part of life, and I choose to focus on the blessings and opportunities that come with aging, rather than dwelling on its drawbacks.”
“I prioritize self-care, staying active and nurturing my passions, which helps me feel energized and confident at any age. Ultimately, I believe beauty and vitality are not determined by age, but by how we embrace and celebrate our life’s journey.”
“I want women who are struggling with body confidence to know that you are not alone. It’s okay to have moments of doubt or insecurity, but be kind to yourself and focus on what you love about your body and yourself overall.”
“Remember, beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and ages and there is no one definition of beauty. Surround yourself with positive influences and supportive people who encourage you and remind you of your worth. You are unique, valuable and worthy of love and respect, just as you are.”
