She has the number one aid to become number two.
Gianna, a nutritionist and certified personal trainer, shared on TikTok the three morning habits she swears by to support her gut health, and one in particular is to keep things moving.
It should be done as soon as you wake up and can be done within a minute without any special ingredients.
“The best thing to do is to drink hot water on an empty stomach.”
Gianna drinks about 32 ounces of hot water and claims the benefits are countless.
“Not only does it keep you hydrated and make you feel good, but simply moving your body and flushing out toxins can help restore your natural fluid balance and aid in digestion,” Gianna says.
She adds that adding electrolyte powder, Himalayan salt, lemon juice, or apple cider vinegar to that warm water can amplify the effects.
Her advice echoes that of French biochemist and best-selling author Jessie Inchospé, also known as the Glucose Goddess. She recently extolled the benefits of chugging vinegar water for weight management and energy boost.
Janna’s morning regimen is noticeably less unpleasant than other recent water hacksChia seed-based tadpole water, which is popular among Gen Z, and “natural lubricant,” also known as okra water, Also known as snot shot.
What are some other ways to balance your hormones and improve your gut health first? According to Gianna, you shouldn’t go through your typical morning rituals without eating first.
“We no longer drink coffee on an empty stomach, which is one of the worst things anyone can do when trying to balance their hormones,” she says. “Not only is your adrenal glands overloaded, but you’re also sending cortisol spikes throughout your body.”
Cortisol is the body’s primary stress hormone, produced by the adrenal glands and released into the bloodstream during times of stress.
It influences sleep, mood, and energy levels, fights inflammation, controls blood pressure, and regulates blood sugar levels, among other important functions.
Gianna encourages viewers to eat a balanced breakfast before or with their first cup of coffee.
In another TikTok, nutritional therapist Oliva Hedlund also gave a warning about coffee, saying that coffee is “acidic, so not only is it hard on our stomachs in the morning, but it literally puts our bodies into a stress response. It makes me have a seizure.” Cortisol is released and you go into a kind of fight-or-flight state.
“Because your body is feeling stressed. Eat something small before you drink your coffee. Make that your goal. I promise you’ll notice a difference.”
The third part of Janna’s Holy Trinity wake-up routine is to wake up and shine with a morning workout.
“Any movement in the morning will help your digestion right away. After a full night’s sleep, you need to move to get your blood circulating,” she explains. “This will help your digestion and improve your morning bowel movements.”
Are there other ways to support and abet number two? A high-fiber diet, a little poop yoga, and the potty tips that surgeons say can improve pit stops.
